Learn To Fly RC

Interested in learning to fly radio control aircraft? We have qualified instructors in the club that donate their time to teach anyone and everyone that wants to learn to fly.

  1. Come down to the field on the weekend and have a chat, see what others are doing, pick up some tips. If you haven’t already bought your plane and equipment, nows a good time to see what others are using. They come in all different shapes, sizes, electric, glow powered, 36Mhz, 2.4GHz, ARF, RTF….. the combinations are endless. Learn from others already using the gear.
  2. The club has it’s own dedicated PC simulator where you can crash hundreds of planes without going broke.
  3. If you’ve already bought and assembled your plane, it’s always worth getting an experienced eye to look it over. Often a first timer will leave the field on their first visit not having taken to the air but with a lot of valuable advice on small corrections to make. A small adjustment here & there can make all the difference between taking your plane home in one piece or many. For example, do you know where your centre of gravity is? Did you check it with the fuel tank full or empty?
  4. Come to a club meeting held on the first Wednesday of every month at the Bayswater Senior Citizen’s Centre next to the Knox Community Arts Centre, located near the corner of Mountain Highway and Scoresby Road, Bayswater.
The meetings start at 8:00 pm
There is normally a general interest session or special presentation at each meeting
Tea and coffee is provided and visitors are welcome
The December meeting is usually held at the field with a fly-in and barbeque being held in conjunction with the meeting
