Display Day Video

Video from the Display Day 2010 is up on YouTube. So if you were too busy cooking pancakes for mum and didn’t make it down to the field, grab a cuppa and see what you missed. It’s about 22 minutes long and includes some onboard video from one of the combat fliers that captures many near misses.

If you’d like a copy on DVD, leave a comment here and I’ll see how many I can get done before Wednesday night’s meeting.

Notice to Membership

If any members who joined the LDMFA between Dec1st 2009 and June 30th 2010

AGM 2010 – So much to see and do

So much going on in such a short time! We had the regular monthly meeting before getting into the AGM where Tony Loyd-Bailey was re-elected as president. Congratulations to Tony. The contact details will be updated soon to reflect the changes in committee.

Ron Schultz was selling tickets to support the 2010 AOCC F3A team compete in the Phillipines this year. If you missed your chance to chance to buy tickets but would like to, an email to teammanager@rcflyer.com.au should sort you out.

A number of awards were made including Robert Gray for most improved flyer, Ray Chivers for clubman of the year, Jake Thornton for a special effort in Heli flying and a number of lifetime memberships.

The prize for the regular raffle was an eflite Blade MCX RTF Heli which Robert Gray was lucky enough to win. Robert had a pretty good night! Remember, the raffle is a regular event at the club meeting so don’t forget to clean out the centre console of change and buy tickets. Gotta be in it to win it.

There were two models for sale including an electric biplane that was snapped up before the meeting even finished! James Hurley had his electric pylon up for sale. We also had a presentation of rubber powered and Cox engine powered models.

The monthly meetings are a great chance to see some show ‘n tell, buy / sell a model and maybe win a prize. Hope to see you there next month, Wednesday 4th August.
